Robert Flournoy is the founder and current executive director of Loaves And Fishes x10. His journey of fighting hunger started when he made a commitment to help support seven (7) homeless people in Tustin, CA for an entire year, mainly using his personal income, with a few donations from friends and family. As he was moved by compassion to provide the homeless with hygiene products, food, and meals he realized there was so much more work to do in his community and he needed to find more resources for people in need. In 2001 he started volunteering with the food bank at his church, Templo Calvario, which served thousands of people each week. His role included providing support to families who lived in hotels and low-income apartment complexes in Santa Ana, Garden Grove, and Tustin by arranging much needed grocery deliveries as well as offering biblical teachings and life skills training. He became more involved with the food bank and went on to volunteer with Obras De Amor where he realized he could make a bigger community impact and help them expand their community influence. Through his leadership he was instrumental in planning large community events held at school parking lots and providing food and resources to those in need. As an experienced event planner and food distribution coordinator he was put in charge of food distribution for We Care America and We Care Santa Ana, projects of Templo Calvario Community Development Corporation. In 2010, Robert became the Outreach Coordinator for Love Community Outreach where his job was to help procure enough food to support 50 organizations who feed the needy and reach the surrounding community as well. Through the evangelical food distributions and networks with other ministries he realized collaboration was key to take a bite out of hunger and really make a difference. His passion to connect organizations with needed food and help them procure enough to meet the needs of so many hungry individuals they serve led him to found the organization Loaves And Fishes x10. As executive director of this non-profit organization he is very dedicated to feeding the community and helps ensure their physical and spiritual needs are met. The organization collaborates with local food banks and arranges gleaning and harvesting opportunities for them on farm lands throughout Orange County. Robert has been instrumental in recruiting volunteers and arranging food distribution campaigns.
